Owlbert

African Spotted Eagle Owl

 

Owlbert is an African Spotted Eagle Owl and one of the smallest owls from the Eagle Owl family. We hand reared and imprinted Owlbert from a very young age. His parents were elderly and sadly became very clumsy when eggs were in the nest. Unfortunately, the parents accidentally broke the eggs other than Owlbert's, which meant he had to be hatched in an incubator.

He is very popular with the public because of his cheeky character and is often used on the “Close Encounters”.
